The Phoenix Business RadioX team and I are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and “life-giver” Robin S. Reed, President and CEO with the Black Chamber of Arizona
Every time I was in his presence: one-on-one, sharing the stage, at an event, on the phone together, Robin had a way of making me feel like I was the most important person in the world in those moments. I am so glad I got to share this very acknowledgement and a big Robin hug when we were at STN just a few weeks ago.
I am grateful to Kindra Maples with Culture Crush Business LLC. for the eager, “You two need to know each other” introduction. Robin was a champion for everyone he met. Robin happened to be with us in-studio on the last day of work for one of my employees. We shared an emotional few moments when this teammate explained why he was moving on from our team. Knowing that this individual had always held the dream of being a police offer for the City of Phoenix, Robin lovingly, enthusiastically and masterfully helped mentor this young man toward this goal.
Every time there was an update on his progress towards joining the police academy, Robin would give me a call and update me. Or, he would say, “I’ve got great news to share but instead of me telling you, I think you ought to call him yourself and ask what’s up.”
Robin, you will be dearly missed by many. Your impact here in Arizona alone, is remarkable and legendary. I am a better person for having known you.
